She dances, gently touching the floor with her shoes Floating above it, forgetting about gravity

The dark eyes, deep and sparkling Reflecting as mirrors, the light of a thousand candles

With confidence, power and balance of movements Some soft silky fragrance, gentle as a summer breeze

She gives the same feeling as a magnificent sound Violinists striking the same chord in front of a crowd

I pretended not to watch but I was so aware Until she turned to me with some intense stare

I looked right away with some sense of regret But she kept on dancing and nothing was said

There's not always strict joy Moods change in each moment

Dark moonlit skies and the rise of the sun The change of the tides and birds flying south

If you feel no joy In this present moment

Don't try to suppress Your emotions or change them

Look outside the window Take a walk, let it wallow

It's fine if you sometimes feel a bit hollow Once you get quiet and try to observe

Let it go, lose all nerve There's no need to feel perfect

Something else is awaiting After every curve

And bless yourself that You know life from each side

The bright and the dark Are not friends but close by

Once you stop resisting The need to feel perfect

It might all come out And bring you the balance

I'm talking about

Golden domes on churches, reflecting bright sunbeams Cobblestone streets, as wide smiles with yellow teeth

Trams crawling slowly, past small stores and bookstalls Bringing us home, until the the night falls

And when some of us sleep, all safe and sound In parks streets and bars, the others are found

There is no free bench, the people hang out Our parks in the summer, is what it's about

The clinging of glasses, the bars full of laughter Parties all night, if that's what you're after

We can look at the mountain, when the sun rises It looks different each morning, and always surprises

Some days can be stormy, clouds dropping much rain Loose tiles and wet socks, we all know the pain

We all give our meaning, to this city we live in Many grew to like it, Sofia has its own way

If you take the time and keep presumptions at bay The charm of Sofia might convince you to stay
